Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. I Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)
I know this is off topic but I was just wondering if Penal Substitutionary Attonement and Christus Victor are compatible or incompatible views? They seem to be set in opposition to each other but at first glace I saw no disharmony.
No, those views are not in opposition, unless they're competing for the "only" position at the top of the heap.
Other views of the atonement all have an element of truth, but penal substitutionary atonement gets to the heart of the matter - the satisfaction of the wrath of God by Christ for us.
